Mensa has only one qualification for membership - you must score in the top 2% of the population on a standardized intelligence test. Mensa offers its own test, supervised by a certified Mensa proctor, or prior evidence from any of approximately 200 different tests can be accepted. pic

The Mensa Admissions Test: This test, which takes two hours to complete, is composed of two tests featuring questions involving logic and deductive reasoning. An applicant who scores at or above the 98th percentile on one of the two tests qualifies for membership. Testing fee is $30. For more info, contact us.

Prior Evidence: If at any time in your life you have taken one of approximately 200 tests accepted by Mensa and you scored in the top 2% of the general population, then you may already have qualified!

Examples:
If you took the SAT in 1975 and scored at least a 1250, you qualify!
If you took the ACT in 1988 and scored at least a 29, you qualify!

So go back and check your old high school, college, or military records and see if you have already qualified. More information about submitting prior evidence, a partial list of accepted scores, and an application form are avalable on the American Mensa website. All prior evidence will be appraised individually, and Mensa reserves the right to make the final determination of the acceptability of the test. The non-refundable, one-time evaluation fee is $25.
